Jack Scow's "Vital for Life"
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me,
my name is Jack Scow and I’m a full-time personal trainer.
Fitness, bodybuilding and a healthy lifestyle has been the order
of the day for over 43 years now and I have loved every minute
of it. I became the first full time personal trainer in Fresno,
California in 1988, due in part to a full-page article in the
“Tempo“ section of the Fresno Bee on May 31, l988
entitled “Mr. Motivation Builds Strong Bodies”.
It was a very positive article that included interviews and
pictures of my clients training with me. It was this article,
I believe, that helped me leap from part-time to full-time personal
trainer.
My experiences over the last 43 years of fitness
and personal training has helped me develop my personal fitness
philosophy, I have come to call it “Vital for Life”.
My “Vital For Life” system is not
just about being in great shape today, it’s about the
future. How do you want to look and feel 5 years, 10 years,
or even 20 years down the road? The health decisions you make
now will affect your life for years to come. It’s that
important! Power, strength and agility are very important for
people of all ages and it will dictate the quality of life you
live for the rest of your life. Just remember, to be able to
do what you want to do physically, at any age, you have to start
building that “fitness bank account” that you will
use and maintain later in life.
I have experience in working with people of all
ages and ability levels from 18 to 89 years of age. I am proud
to say that they are enjoying life to its fullest at the age
they are, with their eyes on the horizon.
In short, my system is to build and maintain
vitality to your life through a simple fitness and nutrition
regime. Remember, it’s your life! Embrace it and live
it to its fullest. Be Vital for life!
My Fitness Philosophy
I’m a personal trainer and I love what I
do for a living. Helping others improve their health and lives
through exercise and fitness is what has kept ME motivated all
my life. I look at exercise as a type of preventative medicine.
Research shows that exercise and proper nutrition will dramatically
help reduce your risk of serious health problem that result
in lower quality of life and extremely high health-care costs.
I'm a firm believer in what has come to be known
as the "Fitness Lifestyle". This lifestyle includes
a daily fitness and nutrition regimen that helps turn your body
into a lean calorie-burning machine. Not only does this lifestyle
help your body look its best, but it also helps it perform at
peak capacity.
I adopted this lifestyle many years ago and it
was the best decision I have ever made. I could not imaging
living any other way and my life continues to be the embodiment
of my belief that the “fitness” lifestyle is the
closest thing we have to the fountain of youth. Like Jack LaLaine
says, “exercise is king, nutrition is queen”. Believing
in this philosophy, my “Vital For Life” system was
born.
I have witnessed some elderly men and women struggle
to get out of their chairs and shuffle into the next room only
to struggle to sit again. I think to myself, this doesn't have
to happen! Getting older doesn't have to mean all we have to
look forward to is a rocking chair and a walker. We can stay
strong and vital but it has to start today. We must start making
deposits in our “Life Fitness Bank” in order to
reap the rewards in our later years.
I believe that people of all ages can start
today to make a positive change in their lives and living a
fitness lifestyle is the best place to start. I can sum up what
we all should be in just four simple words: Be Vital
For Life!
